Katie graduated from Loughborough University in 1997 with a BSc Hons in PE & Sports Science/Social Science. During her degree she gained Exercise to Music and Gym Instruction qualifications, and worked at Ragdale Hall Health Hydro, as a PT and class instructor, alongside Dean Hodgkin, a world leader in the Health & Fitness Industry. This honed her teaching skills, as a varied timetable of exercise classes required teaching Aerobics, Circuits, Body Pump, Body Balance, Spin, Boxercize and Relaxation Techniques, as well as creating client training programmes for members and guests.
After graduating, Katie worked as a PT and Gym/Class Instructor in numerous national Gym chains, as well as in Marketing, and went on to travel the world for a couple of years working as Cabin Crew for British Airways.
Between 2002 and 2006, Katie took a break from working life in order to spend time with her children during their pre-school years, during which time she gained further qualifications in Holistic Massage, and a Level 4 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy.
In the pursuit of Continued Professional Development
At the core of every component of my professional practice, is the desire to
EDUCATE, SUPPORT & MOTIVATE to develop client self awareness and improve overall health and wellbeing.
I bring all my spheres of knowledge together, and treat in a very holistic manner.
I very much involve clients in their treatment and ongoing rehab; combining education of how improving myofascial health will enhance their everyday functionality and vitality, with exercise prescription, and postural correction.
While my treatments are very hands-on in order to mediate changes in the body to improve function, where appropriate, I also encourage a deeper connection to a client's nervous system through breathing techniques and movement, in order to promote enhanced self-healing.
