COVID-19 Update: BST Classes & Service Provision

Updated: Mar 17, 2020

I understand that some may be concerned that attending classes and appointments may carry health risks for you and those close to you.

In line with today's advice from Public Health England, and in response to the briefing from the Prime Minister regarding new measures that the UK are going to take to tackle Covid-19, Breeze Sports Therapy will now operate a limited service until further notice.

As a precautionary measure, ALL BST Fitness Classes based in the 6388 Scout Hut are sadly suspended from now (16.03.20) until further notice.

Staying Active:

Despite the current measures in place however, Public Health England and Sport England both very much advocate remaining active wherever possible.

For those who would like to get out of the house and have no underlying health problems preventing you from doing so, I will be running Bootcamp style classes in St Andrews Park, Bishopston, Bristol BS6 5AX on Mon and Wed mornings between 9-10am. These will be focussed on cardio and body weight exercises ensuring minimal contact with each other in the fresh air.

To register interest for these classes or for more information, please get in touch with me on 07775 852791 or PM via my Breeze Sports Therapy Facebook page.

Those with class credits already set up can of course use these as payment.

For Pay as You Go clients, the fee is £6/class payable in person or via the website booking form.

Sports Therapy Services

Currently Sports Therapy Services offered at C1 Chiropractic Health Centre and at my Belmont Rd clinic are running as normal. The locations and I are following the advice from Public Health England, and normal hygiene protocols are in place. There are facilities to wash your hands and use hand sanitiser gel at both locations

However, please do not feel you have to attend your appointment if you’re feeling uncertain or have any reason to feel concerned for your health or for others with whom you have close contact, especially if there are underlying health issues. If you’d like to postpone the appointment, please contact us to reschedule and we will be happy to do so. If you do feel unwell, please do not consider attending your appointment, so we can reduce the risk of the spread of Coronavirus.

I will continually review my business practices; your and my health being the main priority. As such I will decide if it is appropriate and safe to provide classes and treatments on a daily and individual basis.

If you have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) or you are displaying symptoms of coronavirus, please get in touch to postpone your appointment and follow government guidelines regarding self-isolation.

I would finally like to share some recommendations that I hope you will find helpful:

First and foremost, take good care of your own health and wellbeing at this challenging time, including your emotional and mental wellbeing.

Find some time each day – even if it’s just 10 minutes - to practice mindfulness, yoga, or a short breathing exercise. Or simply do something you enjoy, whether its baking, taking a long warm bath, exercising or reading a book.

Stay in touch...with those who might be lonely and at risk of feeling particularly isolated. If you know of someone who is vulnerable or lonely, they will really value just having a conversation with someone they know and trust.

For anyone who has any fitness related questions, whether it be for tips on how to stay active while at home, or stress, postural, pain or injury related queries, I am happy to offer tips via phone or email; so stay in touch with me and I will endeavour to answer whatever questions you might have.

If you have to self isolate, and you are still struggling with your injury/symptoms, I am happy to arrange a Skype or FaceTime appointment where we can discuss your symptom presentation & intensity, and see how we can adapt your rehab plan accordingly. Injury rehab and self treatment can still continue at home, and I will of course try to make it as achievable and enjoyable as possible.

If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
